Jilson Elliott Sorrell

Chester, SC: Jilson Elliott Sorrell, 73, died Friday, July 15, 2022 at Prisma Health Richland. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Zion Presbyterian Church with Reverend Al Ward officiating. The family will receive friends also Wednesday in the fellowship hall of the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Interment will be held in Zion Cemetery.

Jilson was born on July 31, 1948 in Paris, Kentucky and was a son of the late Harold Nesbitt Sorrell and Rowena Pendleton Sorrell. He was a graduate of Paris High School and Georgia Southern School of Business.Jilson was retired from Seaboard Railroad and also Chester County Hospital. Mr. Sorrell was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church where he was a former deacon and former church treasurer. He was also a current board member of Zion Cemetery Committee and also a board member of the North Chester Fire Department. Jilson was a friend to the Lowrys community. He was a stranger to no one and a friend to many.

He is survived by two daughters, Whitney Sorrell McCarley (Trey) of Elgin, SC and Jessica Sorrell Stillwell (Jake) of Chester, SC; four grandchildren, Erin McCarley and Liam McCarley and Lauralee Stillwell and Tripp Stillwell.
